Official Washington State Boater Card Class – In-Person

Embark on a journey to safe and responsible boating with our Washington State Boaters Card Class! Join us for an engaging and informative in-person session where seasoned boating experts will guide you through the essential knowledge and skills needed to navigate the waterways of the Evergreen State confidently.

This class is presented in partnership with Washington Sea Grant

To operate powered watercraft with more than 15 horsepower in Washington State, a Boater Safety Education Card is required. This class is an in-person alternative for those seeking the card and desire more than an online experience. Successful completion of the test will result in the participant receiving a boater card in the mail.

This class is in person at the Northwest Maritime Center campus.

Course Details:

March 2, June 29, Sept 21
8:30 AM–5:30 PM | $40 non-member, $36 member

  • Prerequisites: None
  • Platform: In-person at the NWMC campus
  • Teaching style: This class consists of a presentation, interactive discussions, and a Q&A session, followed by an open-book test.
  • Duration: One 8-hour session
  • Materials: Student manual “Adventures in Boating Washington” provided. Successful completion of the test will result in the participant receiving a boater card in the mail.
