The sailboat racing season opens in February with the Port Townsend Shipwrights’ Regatta!
The Northwest Maritime Center and the Port Townsend Sailing Association present the 29th Annual Shipwrights’ Regatta! Come out and join the fun on Saturday, February 29th. All boats are welcome, and as always, the race is open to folks who would like to try sailboat racing but do not have a boat.

Join us for this spirited race to thumb our noses at winter and get the sailing season started.
Boats of all construction & crew without boats welcome!
This race is also about getting people out on the water!
We invite people who have always wanted to try sailing or racing to come join us, and we will do our best to get interested folks on a boat for the race! Come to the Skipper’s Meeting the morning of the race to be connected with a boat.

It’s not about winning, it’s about the spirit of the race. Door Prizes! Perpetual Awards! Chance to win a free haul out for two lucky racers! The boat that invites the most “pick up” crew on-board wins one of the haul outs.

- Skipper’s Meeting at 9:30 AM at the NWMC
- Complimentary coffee provided by Sunrise Coffee
- Race starts at 12 noon on Port Townsend Bay
- Awards party at NWMC following race
Entry fee: $25
Includes one party pass per boat. Additional party passes are available for $10 each. Your party pass includes free pizza at the awards party after the race.
