GET ON THE WATER
There’s no better place to learn from the sea.
From summer boat tours to sailing classes and camps, there are plenty of ways to get out on the water this summer in Port Townsend!
Port Townsend Bay Tours
During the summer explore Port Townsend from the water as you cruise to points of interest around Port Townsend Bay aboard our comfortable catamaran, Admiral Jack.
Adult Sailing Classes
Our highly experienced sailing instructors, a year-round windy bay, and a beautiful waterfront location surrounded by the Olympic and Cascade Mountains combine to make the Northwest Maritime Center’s sailing classes some of the best and most beautiful in the region. Experience sailing for the first time or take your skills to the next level!
Youth Sailing Classes & Camps
Kids can experience maritime life in many ways, from rowboats and sailboats to on-the-water programs and much more. We have a series of popular week-long sailing day camps for kids. Summer camps are divided into two programs—Messing About in Boats, for 5 to 10 year-olds, and Learn to Sail for 8 to 16 year-olds.
Get on the Water at Wooden Boat Festival
There are lots of fun ways to get out on the water at the Wooden Boat Festival! Row and sail a longboat, try out a paddleboard at the paddleboard pool, tour the Bay on our comfortable catamaran, Admiral Jack, or go sailing on one of the tall ships at Festival.
