Sharing our last day together

Our final class of the school year brought us together for the last time as a group. We were grateful to have time together out on the water and back on land to celebrate our accomplishments.

Calm waters made our last day a rowing day. We power stroked along the waterfront to get in front of the ferry before it left the dock. We pulled out the shanty books and added a new shanty to our repetoire, John Kanaka. Our seniors Hunter and Daqaste took thier last turns as Coxswains and led us through our rowing commands. We enjoyed a longer moment of silence in which we took time to write “letters to self” reflecting upon our year with Bravo Team and what me might be doing in the next 6 months to a year when we will receive the letters.

After we returned to the dock, it was time to celebrate our accomplishments. Our plastic straw video, “DONT SUCK” had it’s premiere! We invited parents and other Maritime Center staff to come watch it with us. The video is product of alot of creative collaboration and we are proud of our work! Stay tuned for the video to be posted on facebook and youtube. After the premiere, we passed out awards to every student recognizing thier unique contribution to the team while enjoying some delicious treats. Thanks for an amazing year Bravo Team!
