Everybody needs a plan

Having a will in place clarifies your wishes for how everyone that matters to you should be cared for beyond your own lifetime. Your will lets you choose who inherits your property, name guardians for minor children, provide a plan for pets, and more.

Through a will, you can also choose to include a provision for charitable organizations like Northwest Maritime, and make an impact on the causes you care about – now and in the future. Charitable gifts from your will can potentially reduce your estate tax burden.

Beneficiary Designation

401(k)s, IRAs, life insurance policies, and other accounts are types of assets you can pass on outside of your will, and transfer of ownership can be faster than assets that must go through probate.

Designating the Northwest Maritime as a beneficiary can have a big impact and may avoid unwanted taxes for your heirs.

I give to the Northwest Maritime Center, a charitable organization with tax ID number 91-1931643 and located in Port Townsend, Washington, ___% of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate.
