Donate Your Boat

Beyond the hands-on skills of sailing and woodworking, when you donate your boat you are helping create the building blocks of what we all hope to see in the world: Courage. Empathy. Resilience. Support youth programs and donate your boat today!

We are seeking boats with high resale value, few needed repairs, and an excellent track record for cruising, ideally with a market value of over $10,000. We are currently seeking donations of vessels to fill out our fleet in our programs with Catalina 22 sailboats in excellent or new condition.

Your tax-deductible boat donation would help support the mission, programs, and activities of Northwest Maritime such as the Wooden Boat Festival, Race to Alaska, and the educational programs for young students and professional mariners alike.

If you have a boat you believe would be a good candidate for a tax-deductible donation to be sold to support NWMC programs, please send a short description and a few photos to boatdonations@nwmaritime.org. 

Small craft in good condition, including skiffs, kayaks, canoes, etc. may be accepted as tax-deductible donations to Marine Thrift, space permitting.

For boats that do not meet the above criteria, we recommend Gonzo Boat Recycling for responsible recycling and disposal of all boats, attempting to preserve as many classic, vintage, and historical vessels as possible in the PNW.
