Do you know a high schooler who is interested in the sea or a maritime career? Check out these exciting opportunities that are accepting applicants now!

Dock Attendant

We are in our third year partnering with the Port of Port Townsend to provide Dock Attendants for Point Hudson and Boat Haven. This is a great opportunity for local high school students looking to gain job experience and earn some cash! Dock Attendants play an important role in supporting marine guests while helping with arriving boats’ dock lines, greeting new RV campers, and being amazing ambassadors for the Port. Port Townsend Maritime Academy

Port Townsend Maritime Academy (PTMA) is a half-day public school program where students engage in hands-on maritime operations studies at our Northwest Maritime Center campus while earning high school credits. This is a West Sound Skills Center program in partnership with NWMC and Port Townsend School District. Juniors & Seniors in several school districts are eligible to enroll in this program, from Port Townsend to Bremerton. This is a great program for students who like to be outdoors, are active learners, and are interested in boats. Enrollment is now open for the 2023-24 school year through West Sound Tech! Maritime High School

Maritime High School is an innovative public school located in the South Seattle area that inspires students through hands-on STEM education around maritime careers, marine science, and the environment. Classroom time is supplemented with frequent fieldwork experiences and boat-based learning. By graduation, students have the skills to launch directly into a maritime career or continue studying at college. The application for the 2023-24 school year is open now. Learn more and apply.
