Square Pegs, Round Holes

Today was the last day of the season in the boat shop for the Girls Boat Project. We only had a short day due to school testing so the benches were a flurry of focused work. Girls spent the afternoon sanding out pencil marks and getting ready to put on their final finish coat.

One of the last steps is drilling pilot holes and hammering in the rose headed copper nails. As we were fitting the four sided nails into the pilot holes, Fiona remarked, “We are literally putting a square peg into a round hole!” We laughed as we realized where that saying comes from. Stay tuned for a photo of our finished work next week.
