Jr Pirates – Afternoon Half Day Camps
Due to popular demand, our Jr. Pirates camp is returning this summer as a half-day program. Campers will be able to dress up as swashbuckling pirates as they sail and row around Port Townsend Bay looking for buried treasure. Instructors will share stories of famous pirates from the age of sail while teaching maritime skills like compass-making and knot-tying. Campers will even have the chance to design, build and decorate their own model pirate ships in the NWM Boatshop. This class runs from 1 PM to 4 PM.
Course Details:
July 7–11, July 14–18, July 21–25, July 28–August 1, August 4-8, August 11–15, August 18–22
1 PM–4 PM | Cost: $300 non-member, $270 member
- For Ages: 6–9
- Duration: 3 hours daily, Monday–Friday
- Class size: 4–12 students, 3 instructors
- What to bring each day:
- Snack and water bottle
- Sunhat, sunglasses, and sunscreen
- Rain jacket
- Towel and change of clothes
- Water-friendly shoes or sandals (no flip-flops please, sneakers are not ideal)
- Optional: a mask, for the short time each day that your child will be inside.
- The Messing About in Boats classes will take an offsite trip to Elevated Ice Cream & Candy Shop on one of the program days, typically Friday. The price of this is included in your program fees.
