Get to know Team Trash Tramp

First thing first. Why race in WA360?
It appears to be a really cool event and I want the challenge. I love the Sound and want to be in it all the time. I want to continue to raise awareness to our trash and waste crisis help to encourage others to care for the planet and ourselves.

What’s your connection to these waters?
I am from these waters. My Great Grandparents immigrated to the US and bought land there in 1920’s…. and we have been going there ever since. My grandparents’ ashes are in those waters. My memories are on the shores and my heart is with the wildlife. I want to take care of these waters and all waters.

Superpowers. Each crew member gets one. What are they and why?
Very even-tempered.

Defend your vessel choice for WA360. What makes it so cool and worthy?
The Cantare was designed by Johnny Puakea to address a market that has been overlooked in the paddling community, The smaller people ( Often the women). Cantare means to sing giving the smaller people a voice. This canoe is human-powered by single paddle, lighter and smaller, more maneuverable for a smaller person. Unlike the larger models that were build by the boat designers for that size person 180lbs…. I paddled this same canoe this last summer July 2024 335 miles through Puget Sound for 15 days, solo, paddling, camping and picking up trash along the way.

What are your adventure qualifications for WA360? What makes you (y’all) cool and capable?

What is going to break?
Hopefully not my spirits!
ALL Gear is Capable of breaking and thats so nerve-wracking. My Body is capable of a lot of things…. I might be kinda superstitious.
