This week in Girls’ Boat Project we worked on Onward’s oars. It was a busy and productive day in the shop and our last week to work on the boat before she is launched for the spring. We worked in pairs to sand off old varnish and prep the wood for a fresh coat of teak oil. It was hard work to keep the right pressure and not change the shape of the oars. Finally we had the satisfaction of coating our oars and seeing the dry wood soak up the fresh oil. Aaaahhh…
