Marine Navigation for Women and Couples: Navigate Your Way with Confidence — Two-part, In-Person Class

Designed specifically for women and couples, this supportive, hands-on navigation class builds real confidence with practical, transferable skills. You’ll learn how to read and understand paper charts, find your latitude and longitude, take and plot bearings, and determine your position using dead reckoning and fixes. We’ll break down tides, currents, speed, and time so you can plan a safe route—and adjust when conditions change.

You’ll also practice using GPS and electronic charts correctly, understand why datum matters, interpret aids to navigation, and plot a clear course to harbor or to a man overboard.

With small, in-person classes, you’ll learn in a supportive environment that encourages questions, builds confidence, and meets you where you are

This two-part class is in person at the Northwest Maritime campus.
