“…And we’re bound away for Austraaaalia!”
We are three weeks into Team Longboat (formerly Bravo Team) with a motley crew of brand-new folks and seasoned returners! The returning crew has stepped up into leadership roles to show new folks the ropes (literally), and the crew is working amazingly well together, singing chanteys, rowing hard, and letting our sails fly!
Our crew just finished creating their “ship’s articles,” a tradition we do on board to create a community agreement, team name, and set goals for the season. We named ourselves the Sea Chasers, and we are filled with the spirit of adventure! Some of the agreements we made for the season are to lift each other up and encourage one another, to keep morale high, and to practice good communication. We also agreed that more time on the water = more fun!
So far we have three boat outings in the books. We’ve rowed hard, practiced using “power strokes” (to go fast!), set our sails, and practiced tacking. We look forward to honing our skills and to many more adventures this season!
