Navigation & Seamanship Classroom Training

We offer classes from traditional navigation with paper charts through cutting-edge Pilothouse Simulation courses—our goal is to make you a better, safer and more confident mariner. Class sizes are small and are designed to be hands-on, so that you are learning while doing.

Simulator Rental

Our state-of-the-art 120-degree, plasma-screen simulator is available for hourly rental to marine harbor pilot candidates wishing to prepare for any of the west coast pilot association practical exams.

Those booking the simulator need an approved operator/trainer with them; we are happy to provide contact details of recommended local trainers. Simulator rental cost is $250 per hour (a trainer will invoice additionally).

Adult Teambuilding

Experience adult teambuilding programs that foster trust, teamwork, communication, and connection among co-workers. Step back in time aboard an historic 26 foot wooden replica rowing and sailing vessel. Up to 10 participants per longboat accompany our experienced Captains and Mates for an experience designed to allow every member of your team to realize their importance in the group’s success and have the opportunity to contribute.

NWMC is proud to offer scholarships to those facing financial barriers so everyone can have the opportunity to learn with us, regardless of financial circumstances.

To apply for a scholarship for adult programs, please complete our scholarship application form during the registration process.
