High School Sailing Team Fall Practice

High School Sailing Team Fall Practice will be an 8-week program running from the week of September 13th through the week of November 4th.

Over those eight weeks, we will be on the water as much as possible, practicing racing FJs. Over the season we will work on building the skills necessary to compete in fleet and team racing – ranging from perfecting a roll tack, understanding the racing rules of sailing, nailing a start, and gaining a sense of the tactics and strategy implemented in sailboat racing. At this point our regatta schedule is not yet fully formed, but we hope to participate in a mixture of events from local scrimmages to a district wide varsity event.

Practices will run Mon, Tues, Weds, Thurs 3:45 – 6:30 with each sailor attending 2 practices per week. (This timing may change later in the season as our days get shorter. Please reach out to Alyce if the timing is a challenge.) Practice days will depend on availability and skill level. There may be potential for sailors to attend more than 2 practices per week, depending on enrollment. There are 24 spots available, the price is $200 per sailor. We look forward to seeing you out on the water!

There will be an informational with Coach Alyce meeting on Zoom, on 9/7 at 7pm.
