Bravo Team has been full of small craft advisories and land-based activity most of 2017… until TODAY!

A slight southerly created a beautiful close reach sail across PT Bay

Chrissy and Sonia both showed up to work today with a measurable excitement as the weather looked to be appropriate to actually go out on the water!  Without much further ado, we got down to the bosun’s locker and got our gear together efficiently (raingear was wise as the forecast predicted a shower here and there).

Anna Molotsky at the helm with help from Sonia

Anna Molotsky took command of Townshend and safely got us off the dock under oar power.  After ‘shaking off the cobwebs’ from our rowing muscles, we prepared to set sails across Port Townsend Bay on a close reach.  Tacking near Old Fort Townsend State Park, we reached back toward the NWMC in order to drop off Luca Gessinger at the newly-painted front dock, who’s on the sailing team so he could be on time to practice.

Smiling Bravo Team!

Our moment of silence, our super social snack, our observation of the incredible cloud formations on the horizon, and the fact that it didn’t rain on us are many of the gratitudes for today’s longboating adventure!  The photos say it all with many smiles and happy faces.

Just two more classes before our Journey begins on Sunday May 7th.
