View from Sit Spot at Point Hudson

Greetings! It’s been a while since our last post back in mid-March. Bravo Team started up again in October with a virtual format. We meet every Thursday on Zoom for one hour and have been focusing on Salish Sea environmental learning, building community and having fun together! There are 7 students in 8th-12th grade from the OCEAN program attending so far.

We are hoping to have an outdoor learning cohort that meets at NWMC coming up soon, pending on school district approval. For the time being, we are inviting the students to get outside and connect with the natural world every week by doing an activity call the “Sit Spot”. Each week we go to our sit spots and then report back on our observations and experiences. We invite you to try it too! Click this link for the Sit Spot Activity. We have also been learning a lot of great Salish Sea marine science through a video series from the Sea Doc Society called “Salish Sea Wild”.   We especially loved the Stellar Sea Lion video, it has awesome underwater footage!

Stay tuned for blog posts once a month from Bravo Team!
