Admiral Jack the newest addition to Northwest Maritime Center’s fleet, Admiral Jack! A comfortable tour boat in the summer and state-of-the-art floating classroom during the school year.
Cal 20 & Cal 25, used to teach our adult sailing classes, including US Sailing basic Keelboat courses and all sorts of private lessons. They are responsive boats with a very safe and dry cockpit and a small cabin.

Optis are the world’s most popular dinghy sailboats, with over 150,000 worldwide. We use them as a safe, independent way for beginners to start sailing all by themselves.
Our 2 longboats, Townshend and Bear, are 26′ open wooden boats. They are historic replicas from Captain George Vancouver’s exploration of the region in 1792 that were built at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding. The boats are equipped with 8 rowing stations and 3 sails. Stepping aboard is like going back in time. Both longboats are US Coast Guard Inspected vessels and are staffed by licensed Captains. The longboats are an integral part of our school programs as well as platforms for overnight voyages with programs like Outward Bound. Longboats excel at providing opportunities to learn to work together as a crew as well as developing confidence and leadership skills.
Martha J is a 24′ motor launch that is our MVP – used for races as a mark boat, for capsize drills as a safety boat, for classes as a science platform or on summer weekends as a great waterfront tour boat.
