Pete Helsell
Finance Director
Pete is a Certified Public Accountant with five years of industry experience as a senior financial/cost analyst with Port Townsend Paper Company and Daishowa America Co. Ltd. Since 1991, Pete has managed over $4.5 million in assets as treasurer of a Seattle-based charitable foundation providing grants to regional human-services organizations. He has focused on providing services and donations to numerous local projects and organizations in his 20+ years as a Port Townsend resident. Pete has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Colorado and finished his accounting education at Central Washington University after ending a 17-year career as an aircraft navigator. Pete served five years on active duty as a Naval Flight Officer and is a retired Navy Captain, having finished his Naval Reserve career in 1996. An avid sailor, Pete races his Cal 40 with his two sons year-round on Port Townsend Bay.
