Joan Broughton

Joan Broughton is a Seattle native and University of Washington graduate who grew up sailing on Lake Washington in a Geary 18/Flattie, built by her brother in the family garage. During college, she was a sailing instructor at a camp on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.

While working for 30 years in business and corporate banking and economic development in the Seattle area, she dreamed of moving to Port Townsend. Joan finally realized that dream in late 2007 and is the VP and Senior Commercial Relationship Manager of  the Port Townsend Branch of Frontier Bank.

Joan specialized for part of her banking career in managing relationships of non-profit organizations and is proficient in non-profit accounting and financial analysis. She currently serves on the boards of OlyCAP, the Port Townsend Film Festival and the PT Rotary. She has served full terms on the boards and executive committees of Artist Trust and Family Services, Seattle and has worked as a political campaign treasurer and PONCHO Auction volunteer. For 18 years, she was an active fund raising and sports boosting parent at her children's Seattle schools.

Joan is a kayaker and has enjoyed reconnecting with her passion for sailing by taking the Wooden Boat Foundation's sailing classes in the summer of 2008. Her dreams currently include finding the perfect cruising boat
