Alex Spear

Alex is a trustee of the Camilla Chandler Family Foundation. As past president of the Wooden Boat Foundation Board (www.woodenboat.org) of Directors, Alex was instrumental in the formation of the Northwest Maritime Center in the late 1990s. Alex has been very active in the preservation and enhancement of Port Townsend’s maritime legacy through his involvement in the Point Hudson Maritime Association and the Union Wharf Advisory Committee. He is past chairman of the Wooden Boat Foundation’s Mariner’s Regatta, president of the Port Townsend Maritime Committee, and on the board of directors of the Wooden Yacht Racing Association. Alex is the owner of Spear Wood Works and Point Hudson Peapods and is known as a master shipwright, a supremely accomplished sailor and an expert wind surfer.
