Get on the Water

From free boat rides to on-site small boat rentals, Team Longboat to Learn to Sail classes, there are plenty of ways to get out on the water this summer at the Northwest Maritime Center!

If being on the water isn’t your idea of fun, come get a cup of coffee at Velocity, grab a pink chair, and enjoy watching the boats go by from the dock, the beach, or First Federal Commons.

Small Boat Rentals

NEW IN 2017! Come get on the water and see Port Townsend—our Victorian Seaport—from the water! Mountains, water and a historic town—the views are spectacular. Memorial Day Weekend through the Wooden Boat Festival in September, we have small rowboats and sailboats available for rent from the NWMC lower deck. All boats are first come, first served—no reservations. Sailboats require a sailing checkout by an instructor, which must be arranged ahead of time. Hours: Wed–Sat, 11–7; Sun, 10–6. Learn more about boat rentals!

Martha J Boat Tours

Take a ride on the beautiful Martha J–a 1984 24′ motor launch–on Fridays & Saturdays from noon to 4 pm, and Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm. Meet down on the floating dock in front of the NWMC. Tours take about 30 minutes, capacity is 6 people, and rides are first come, first served, by donation.

Team Longboat
