Boats and Totes

Our first day on the water!

It was a nice, sunny day when the Girls Boat Project went for a nice dockside row. Taking turns, each girl got to practice following the newly learned rowing commands.

We went through some narrow passages having to trail our oars and then had to hold water to keep ourselves from running into another boat. We also practiced some backwatering and harbor strokes.

(The trip was imaginary as we were tied to the dock the entire time)

Once were back on land we got back to work on building our own boat and tool trays. Opal and Sophia put some braces in to hold the molds in place. Jenna and Harper continued to cut out pieces for the boat and plane them down to the line.
